Football

Football is a team sport played between two teams, typically consisting of eleven players each, where the objective is to score goals by getting a ball into the opposing team’s goal. The game is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, with a goal at each end. Players primarily use their feet to kick the ball, but can also use other parts of their body except their arms and hands (with the exception of the goalkeeper, who can handle the ball within the penalty area).

Football, also known as soccer in some countries, is governed by a set of rules called the Laws of the Game, established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). The sport has global popularity, with millions of players, fans, and organized leagues, including the FIFA World Cup, which is the sport’s premier international tournament. The term “football” can refer to various forms of the game, but the most widely recognized version is association football, characterized by its specific set of rules and play style. In addition to its competitive aspects, football also has significant cultural, social, and economic impacts worldwide.
