Football

Football is a team sport played between two teams, typically consisting of eleven players each, where the objective is to score goals by getting a ball into the opposing team’s net. The game is primarily played on a rectangular field known as a pitch, with a goal at each end. Players can use any part of their body except their arms and hands to move the ball, except for the goalkeepers, who are allowed to use their hands within a designated area known as the penalty box.

Football is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, maintained by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). The sport is played at both amateur and professional levels worldwide and is known for its significant cultural impact and global following. Major international competitions include the FIFA World Cup and continental tournaments such as the UEFA European Championship. Football encompasses various styles of play, tactics, and formations, and it is recognized as one of the most popular sports globally, fostering a sense of community and engagement among fans.
